I guess I will have to fix up my profile cause I now live in Stanley, N.C. My brother Cletus and I moved all my stuff from my old house on one of them UHaul trucks. I thought I had a lot of junk-and I did for the little old house that I used to live in. But this is a bigger house and my junk don't come clost to fillin it up so I reccon I will have to get more junk. This house has 3 bedrooms an two inside outhouses. My ole house had two little bedrooms an one inside outhouse. Thar anin't nobody livin here except me an my ole dog Seth so hit's a mite lonesome but we like this place. The onliest thang that might cause concern is close neighbors. At my ole house I would wake up at 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning and play my banjer. Didn't have no closet neighbors thar but here I got some. I might try to figger out a way to play by puttin a piece of foam in the back of the banjer. I have seen that done.

All my neighbors here seem really nice. The ones on one side are older folks. I reccon they is in their 70's or better. They work in their yard a lot. They come over and said hidy while I was movin in and asked if they could help but I said no thanks. I could have used the help truthfully but they was all dressed up like they was goin somewhere. I have been over to their house one or two times and helped them in the yard once. The neighbor on the other side is a big ole feller who don't get around too good. I reccon he would hit the scales at about 400+. His wife is about as little as he is big. I reccon she would weigh about 90 pounds soakin wet. I don't think he works but she takes off ever mornin fer work someplace. I ain't got to know them too well yet but I'm a plannin on hit.

Thar is one good thang about livin up here besides the nicer house. Thar is a ole boy who lives near here who is a monster git-tarr player an he is goin to hook me up with the fellers he jams with. I'm lookin forward to that ---fer sure! This boy, the git-tarr picker, is about as good as anyone around here an better than most but he don't want to be in a regular band no more. He is done "burned out" from all the road gigs he did when he was in a well knowed band that went all over the USA and Europe. He would probably be famous by now if he hadn't a gived hit up. He said one day he thought "man I'm missin my youngins growin up" so he had a word with the good Lord an the next day he tole the band to find a new git-tarr man an give them 2 weeks notice. He said hit was the best decision he ever made. He's a shop foreman at a big company here now. He can still bend them strangs!

Y'all take care...an Miss Dixie...Just yell over to the doublewide when my nanner puddin is ready. Cletus has promised to call me an I will take off from work for one youre nanner puddins!

Car

Leroy - I just knew that was you coming down the road in that "Y'all Haul"
with that banjo banjo strapped up on top of all your stuff. Somebody else thought for sure you was Jethro Bodine. I told them that was just tv stuff, that Jethro didn't play no banjo.

I reckon I'm gonna have to get some nanners when I go for groceries this week. Cooking

My mom used to make a BIG bowl full of it, and she would line the bowl with nilla wafers then pour the puddin' in. I liked it more the day after when the nilla wafers would be kind of soggy.

Well, like cowboy (I do like that name)said . . . anyways . . . where was I? Oh, yeah, you get you a big bowl and line it with neller wafers. Then you put a layer of sliced nanners, do another layer of neller wafers, then a layer of nanners. Keep doing this until your bowl is about full or you're out of nanners and neller wafers. Next you whip up a batch of plain pudding and pour it down over the neller wafers and nanners that are in the bowl. Keep pouring til your bowl is just about full and running over. Next you whip up some merang, smear it on top of everything and pop it in the oven til it's just a little toasted looking on top. Now don't go and burn it black or nobody's gonna eat it. Cooking

Now you be careful not to eat too much at one time else you'll be spending alot of time with john after awhile. Confused

Y'all eat up now, ya hear.

Leroy, I emailed Arleyman. So far he hasn't shown up here to my knowledge. You need to tell the story about Arley and his "Inshorance man" ways and his big black plastic briefcase again. Some of these people on Works have never heard it. Arleyman was giving them the devil in his last post so I know he's looking for a new home.

Perry said he would have been awwwrite if'n you and him hadn't a drunk up all of his that man's beer an ate up a big ole plate of chitlins after y'all ate that nanner puddin Cream. He says he was a feelin fine until you started takin them curves comin down the mountain like some dang fool in a grand prix racecar.

I got a good laugh out of Stroker this mornin. Seems like his maw had come down with the croup. She was coughin such that Stroker's paw said he couldn't git no sleep. Could be them Camel unfiltered she smokes. Anyhow, Stroker and his paw mixed some moonshine and molasses an tole her to drink it. She took one smell of hit an says no. Well, Stroker and his paw held her down and made her drink a big ole glass of hit. Stroker said he ain't never heard his maw cuss and holler such as she was carying on. Said she was mad as a wet hen when they got done but she slept like a baby all night. He said this mornin she was a dancin around like a youngin an not narry a cough.

My grandmother used to wrap a cloth around a stick and soak it in turpentine and job it down our throat when we had a sore throat. I think moonshine would have been better to kill them germs though.
