Hey there BEBG...I know darn well that there are some us in the 60+ bracket (well at least one, for sure)....you wouldn't be showing any age discrimination now, would you?

Locally we've got a little cute 16 year old girl named Amber who picks mandolin and banjo and sings. She is really a good musician. I tease her about having to find a boyfriend who is a bluegrass picker. She says she's not interested in boys. I think it's great to see teens excited about real bluegrass...We need to encourage them all we can. This coming from a 60 year old who feels like he's 18 (in dog years).

In a group I jam with is a 13 year old girl who has been playing guitar for a couple of years now. It is great to see how she improves over time. She is also working on the mandolin, so you are by no means the only teenager in BlueGrass.

I think she meant the only teenager on the forum here, Spectroid. Yep, there are plenty of teens in bluegrass now and it's great! There's a whole lot of them in North Carolina. Thumbs Up

Alot of boys don't get it. They get ticked off atya because supposedly you "love the banjo more" than he.

But you know what, it's true, I do. Laughing
